Ángel Román is the Reception coordinator of the Kino Border Initiative. He joined the team on May 27, 2021. He is the first filter the migrants pass through when they arrive at the shelter. He welcomes people with a smile and addresses any preliminary questions.

Ángel’s job is to provide care to the migrant, support their needs, accompany them, and redirect them to the required areas, such as intake, meal service, social work, and legal assistance.

What Ángel likes the most is teamwork and being able to serve migrants.
He enjoys his work so much that he doesn’t see it as a job but as something he enjoys.
