Voices of the Border
Voices of the Border, co-authored by Tobin Hansen and our very own Mexican Education Coordinator Sister María Engracia Robles Robles, M.E. documents the testimonies of migrants and refugees in Nogales. This book amplifies the voices of a demographic often excluded from the immigration conversation. Pre-order your copy HERE. To get a sneak peak of the book and speak with the authors, join us and Canisius College on February 24th at 2:00 pm Mountain/Arizona time. Tune in HERE for the event.
Annual Fundraiser
We invite you to join us for our virtual annual fundraiser on March 21st to raise funds to support our mission and celebrate our Executive Director, Fr. Sean Carroll, S.J., as he steps down from 12 years of service with KBI. Beyond paying tribute to the legacy that he leaves behind, we will also welcome KBI’s new executive director Joanna Williams.
Catholic Organizations Present a Framework for Humane Border Policies
KBI and other Catholic organizations rooted in serving, accompanying, and advocating for our migrant brothers and sisters address President Biden to express the faith they have that his administration can change the narrative along the US-Mexico border through changing policy. Together, we call on the Biden Administration to restore asylum, decrease militarization of border communities, and reform and re-imagine humane immigration policy.
KBI Announces New Leadership
We’re excited to announce that our new executive director will be our very own Director of Education and Advocacy, Joanna Williams. Her commitment to KBI runs deep, and we are honored to move forward under her leadership. She will step into this role on March 1st, 2021.
Congratulations Joana! You will be Ana amazing leader of this great cause. All the best to you. Go with God.
Congratulations to Joanna for this well-deserved promotion. I look forward to a very bright future for the Kino Program.
