Sr. Josefina “Pina” Bejarano Padilla, M.E.
Shelter Coordinator
“IT IS TO GIVE A SERVICE, A GENEROUS DELIVERY.”
Sister Josefina Bejarano Padilla, affectionately called “Pina” from Michoacán, has been a part of the KBI team since August 2019 as the Shelter Coordinator. Her job is to make sure that everything at the Migrant Outreach Center is well coordinated so that men, women, and children receive quality humanitarian assistance, providing them with holistic care and satisfying their primary needs, which are shelter, food, and security. She likewise seeks that her stay in the shelter is humane.
Sister Pina tries to learn each person’s name so that they are not just numbers to whom they receive and thus be able to keep something specific from each one, something that characterizes them. As for her team, she sows the seed of living compassion, treating people with dignity, and recognizing this work, not as a burden or duty but rather to provide a service, a generous dedication.
