Migrants in Nogales lead march in honor of World Day of Migrants and Refugees. In recognition of World Day of Migrants and Refugees on September 26, migrants seeking asylum took to the streets in Nogales to protest Title 42, Border Patrol abuses, and lack of access to healthcare in Nogales, Sonora. Call to Action: Ask your Members of Congress to prioritize funding to welcome families seeking protection

Background: Of the migrants arriving at the Kino Border Initiative (KBI) in 2021 who had been deported, nearly half reported some form of abuse by a U.S. official. Dozens of asylum seekers shared with KBI staff that they approached the port of entry and were turned away without having their asylum claims heard.
