Nogales, AZ – On Monday, September 24, 2012, the Border Research Partnership, comprised of Arizona State University’s North American Center for Transborder Studies, the Mexico Institute of the Woodrow Wilson Center and Colegio de la Frontera Norte will grant the Kino Border Initiative one of four awards for bi-national cooperation and innovation along the U.S./Mexico border.
The award will be granted at a gala dinner to be held at the “Realizing the Economic Strength of our 21st Century Border” conference at the Fiesta Resort Conference Center in Tempe, Arizona.
The Kino Border Initiative, founded in 2009 in Nogales, Arizona and Nogales, Sonora, seeks to provide a humanizing presence on the border and to foster bi-national solidarity on the migration issue, through humanitarian assistance, education and research/advocacy.
