Jesuit Refugee Service and Partners: 80+ U.S & Mexican Catholic organizations call on Biden and AMLO to end MPP “A coalition of more than 90 Catholic groups that support, protect, and advocate for refugees is calling on U.S. President Joe Biden and Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, both themselves Catholics, to end the “Migrant Protection Protocols,” (MPP) a cruel and illegal Trump-era policy that was restarted this week, forcing people seeking safety to wait for their immigration hearings in Mexico.”
Press Release: Florence Project and Kino Border Initiative React to the Resumption of “Remain in Mexico” and Continuation of Title 42: The Florence Immigrant & Refugee Rights Project and the Kino Border Initiative are deeply disappointed and alarmed by both of these decisions, which in tandem double down on racist Trump-era policies and effectively eliminate access to asylum for people at the border.” Read press release here.

Baby Kinito christening: We share happy memories from this past month, the christening of Baby Kino. Kino is the saint name given to Victor, one of the several children (and families) who currently reside at our Migrant Outreach Center. Many KBI staff were present to witness this special day and Holy occasion. We wish Kino all the best in the start of his spiritual journey.
