Join Public Actions Against the Assault on Asylum

The violations against asylum-seekers are illegal and dangerous. By moving asylum-seekers further from the public eye—across the border in Mexico, in expedited removal proceedings, or in Central America—the administration is intending to make them invisible. A number of groups and events are organizing public witnesses in protest. One, “Witness at the Border,” is calling on a continued presence in Brownsville, Texas/Matamoros, Mexico to observe and protest the Remain in Mexico policy, the flights that return people to Central America, and tent courts. They remain committed to being present until MPP is reversed. Learn more about their work here: https://nomorecamps.org/how-to-witness-at-the-border/

Additional ways to join those who are resisting the assaults on asylum are through the Interfaith Immigration Coalition’s #Faith4Asylum campaign, which includes resources for planning a vigil in your community. Read more here: faith4asylum.com

For people in the southern Arizona area, the next public event to resist the attacks on asylum will be held on Friday, March 13. Follow us on social media to learn more details as the date approaches.
